Tiger Girl – Film Review

Tiger Girl is about two girls Margarete (aka Vanilla) and Tiger. The film shows how their friendship begins and develops with a series of events. Their mishaps with the law and various adventures throughout Berlin bring them close and even threaten to rip them apart for each other.

This film is brought to you by Jakob Lass. Lass is most known for his 2013 film Love Steaks, and for writing his own film manifesto “FOGMA Rules are Freedom”.  In line with his own principles the film was hardly scripted, but rather shows free-style dialogue between the actors.

I first heard about Tiger Girl during the Berlinale 2017. It was praised as making German film cool again, which is a statement I can’t argue with.

Loud, vulgar & gritty- Tiger Girl is a must see film! 🐯
